Gstaad was once again host location for the Tour de Suisse this year. At the end of the fourth stage, Switzerland’s Stefan Bissegger was the first to cross the finish line in Saanen.

The organisers of the Swatch Major Gstaad are looking forward to staging the highly remunerated beach volleyball tournament. They expect to welcome a daily 1700 spectators to the four-star tournament. Ticket sales will start in June.
The former Snoasis restaurant at the Eggli mountain station was recently demolished. The opening of the new Eggli Lounge is planned for December 2022.

After months of closure, restaurant terraces, cinemas and fitness centres are allowed to reopen – with restrictions. Entry restrictions, keeping your distance, the obligatory wearing of masks, as well as the general hygiene rules, apply.
Since the early days, whether for commercial or leisure purposes, boats and sailors have adapted and evolved over time until we came to today’s era, where the technology factor has been added on top of it.
More than 80 racers from all over the world came to the Saanenland in January to collect valuable European Cup points in two slalom races on 21 and 22 January at the Hublen. Less than a week later, on 27 January, the Swiss Junior Championships were also held in Saanen.
The sailing world – much like the Saanenland – sets high value on friendship. The same was felt when GYC member Anthony Bannwart mentioned he was expecting the visit of a friend, who also happened to be a champion.

Despite all the limitations imposed by the pandemic, the GYC Racing Team kept up their training over the summer to be ready once competitions would take place again. The hard work of the Racing Team members paid off.
The proportion of non-skiers has always been high in the Saanenland. In order to offer them corona-compliant winter experiences as well, Destination Gstaad has massively expanded its range of offers.
