Even though many things will be different this year, one thing will remain the same: the world's best beach volleyball teams will once again be playing for the traditional cowbells on the sands of Gstaad from 6-11 July – and Gstaad will be the venue for the last matches before the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Hopefully, 1700 spectators will be able to attend the matches.

Vaccinated, recovered, or tested
The tournament organisers had prepared three possible scenarios: one with about 3,500 spectators daily, one with a thousand and one without spectators. Now the organisers are looking forward to a tournament with 1,700 spectators.

Only vaccinated, recovered or negatively tested people with a ticket will be admitted. Since this will probably be the new normal at major events this summer, this measure will hardly keep visitors and beach volleyball enthusiasts away.

Matches only with a ticket
Every year, the Swatch Major Gstaad attracts countless beach volleyball fans to the Saanenland. In addition to visiting the actual matches, people could linger in the Beach Village – with or without a ticket. This opportunity will only be available to registered guests with a valid day pass for the upcoming tournament.

The side courts are closed to spectators in accordance with the protection concept. Tickets are now also required for the matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As there is currently no prospect of tickets being sold on-site, all spectators will have to buy their day passes in advance. The official sales start and the detailed access conditions will be communicated continuously on the homepage and social media channels.

Fortunately, Gstaad will once again be "The place to beach" in July.
