Soup for a Good Cause
As autumn paints the landscape in warm shades of orange, that same colour soon appears on our plates, in the form of a delicious pumpkin soup. But behind this seasonal treat lies a meaningful message: with every bowl served, a contribution is made to support women and children in need.

Since the beginning of October, the Soroptimist Club Gstaad-Saanenland has launched its Pumpkin Soup Campaign for the third consecutive year, in collaboration with local restaurants and hotels across the region.

The campaign is part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to combat violence against women and children. Even before the official start of the international Orange Days, the Soroptimists are already raising awareness for this pressing issue. The Orange Days run from 25 November to 10 December and mark the global “16 Days of Activism” dedicated to ending violence against women and children.

Participating venues will display orange information stands to highlight the campaign. So, if you spot one of them—or see pumpkin soup featured on the menu—you’ll know: this is a place that’s not only cooking, but also caring.

The soups are prepared by local chefs, ensuring both excellent taste and quality. In addition, the Soroptimist Club Gstaad-Saanenland will be making its own pumpkin soup to sell at the Saanen Christmas Market on 6 December, further supporting the initiative.

Our tip: In the coming weeks, try a bowl of pumpkin soup at one of the participating restaurants or hotels. And if you’re not sure whether a venue is taking part—just ask. Every spoonful makes a difference.
