A new Swiss longevity start-up has chosen the Gstaad region for the first field tests of its screenless wearable technology this autumn. And they are looking for people from our local community to take part.

Smartwatches have become very good at telling us how many steps we have taken, how well we slept and whether we should perhaps get up from our desks. Swiss start-up spring4ever is approaching the subject somewhat differently.
At the centre of its new platform is a discreet, screenless bracelet that continuously measures biometric data including heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen saturation, sleep and physical activity. There are no messages, notifications, or other screens demanding attention. The idea is that the technology quietly does its job in the background.

But spring4ever is looking beyond the wearable itself. Its concept combines health data with real-life activity and social interaction, supported by a human concierge service. Rather than concentrating purely on sporting performance, the company wants to explore how physical activity, cognitive stimulation and social connections can contribute to staying active and living well over time.

And Gstaad will be its first testing ground.

This autumn, spring4ever will conduct its inaugural field tests here in Saanenland, working with participants while also connecting the project with local sporting, cultural and community activities. The test phase will allow the company to see how its digital platform works in everyday life rather than in a laboratory or purely clinical setting.

Data privacy is understandably an important part of the concept. According to spring4ever, the system uses end-to-end encryption, its server infrastructure is located exclusively in Switzerland, and the platform has been designed to comply with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection.
