Ownership measured in generations

13.02.2026 Business, Business, Gstaad Living, Lifestyle

Over the last 20 years, prime residential property in key ski markets has undergone a complex evolution, shaped by regulatory environments, shifting buyer demographics and broader macroeconomic cycles. Against this backdrop, Gstaad is a market that truly stands apart in the Alps. Its prestige, carefully cultivated over decades as a discreet, alpine enclave, gives it an exclusivity few other destinations can match. While its lower altitude might not attract the ski aficionados, the village consistently commands some of the highest property values in Europe, over CHF 65’000m2 in ultra-prime areas like Oberbort and remains largely immune to the volatility seen elsewhere.

This resilience is about far more than infrastructure. Properties here are often held for generations through private, family offices or trusts, ensuring scarcity, stability and long-term appeal. For many buyers, owning in Gstaad is about belonging to something rare, a lifestyle defined by privacy, elegance and enduring value that extends beyond skiing.

Gstaad beyond winter
Increasingly, demand is shaped by Gstaad’s evolution into a true yearround destination. Akin to Aspen or Niseko, it has adapted to changing priorities, offering something more than a winter season alone. Wellness, cultural events and summer living now compliment skiing as key drivers for property ownership. Gstaad is responding to the modern buyer’s desire for flexibility, sustainability, and lifestyle diversity. The Savills Ski Report 2025 26 highlights this trend, showing how leading resorts are investing in amenities that support all-season living, ensuring resilience and long-term desirability.

The value of local knowledge
We often see firsthand how international buyers can feel overwhelmed by the process of buying in Switzerland. Navigating permits, understanding Lex Koller and Lex Weber and considering tax implications can feel daunting even before stepping inside a chalet. That is where our guidance becomes essential. Real estate is just the beginning. My goal is to provide clarity, insight and genuine local perspective at every step, so clients feel informed and supported from first enquiry to receiving the keys to their chalet.

Quietly exceptional
Many of the relationships we build with clients last long after the transaction. At the heart of this is trust, transparency and connection. Here in the Alps, real estate is about far more than walls and square metres. It is about feeling at home, understanding your investment and knowing you are part of something unique.

In an ever-changing world, Gstaad remains abenchmark: rare, protected and quietly exceptional.

Rooted in the region
My connection to Saanenland and Pays d’Enhaut runs deep. I have been coming here since childhood. My grandparents lived in the area for over 40 years and were close friends with the parents of my partner, Sebastian Devenish. Growing up, his father, the former owner of the Grand Chalet in Rossinière, patiently introduced me to skiing, sparking an early love of the mountains. Since settling here permanently in 2014, I have become integrated into the local community, both professionally and personally. I am a mother of four: three are now adults, and one attends school locally, which has further anchored my life in the region.

I have been working in Gstaad real estate for nearly seven years, a role I genuinely enjoy for the people as much as the properties. I value the relationships I build with both local and international clients, and I am always happy to welcome anyone who wishes to stop by the Savills’ office for a chat over a coffee.

Outside of work, I fully embrace the alpine lifestyle, spending as much time outdoors as possible: skiing, hiking, biking, or playing tennis. Moving from the UK here was a choice I have never once regretted. Life in the mountains is full of adventure… and the occasional mayhem with our two dogs!
