A quiet season, rich in offerings: spring at Le Grand Bellevue

While Gstaad's alpine grandeur takes a brief seasonal pause, Le Grand Bellevue continues to offer locals a quiet sanctuary of culinary and wellness experiences—albeit behind partially closed doors.

The hotel, recently named Best Luxury Alpine Resort by Die 101 besten Hotels Schweiz, sits quietly in its spring slumber until June 13th, when it will reopen for the summer season. With two Michelin Keys, 16 Gault Millau points for LEONARD’s, and a near-perfect 98/100 from the Falstaff Spa Awards, the accolades speak to a hotel that continues to raise the bar for alpine hospitality.

But even in its off-season, Le Grand Bellevue has found thoughtful ways to stay connected to the community. From spa rituals to fondue indulgences, it’s a spring interlude worth noting.

Wellness, Softly Continued
For those seeking serenity (or simply a good stretch), the Bellevue Spa remains partially open to the public until June 7th. Open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the facilities include not only the gym, solarium, and steam room but also a well-rounded schedule of fitness classes—yoga, CORE, HIIT, Pilates Reformer, and more.

Of particular note is the introduction of LuminLED Red Light Therapy, a rejuvenating treatment that is increasingly popular among athletes and wellness enthusiasts alike. Single sessions are available at CHF 120, along with discounted packages for those looking to incorporate it into their spring wellness routine. A variety of massages, facials, manicures, and even haircuts can also be booked upon request.

It’s a pared-down version of the full spa experience, yes, but no less thoughtful in its offerings.

A Taste of Tradition, Just Steps Away
For those who still crave the warm, nostalgic flavours of Swiss mountain cuisine, Le Petit Chalet remains open from Friday to Monday, serving up its signature grilled chicken, seasonal salads, and of course, a rich repertoire of fondues.

Guests can choose between a hearty Fondue Chinoise or the truffle-laced cheese fondue, both available for dine-in or takeaway. Advanced booking is highly recommended, especially for the more elaborate options. Please note the brief closure between May 9 and May 19—though even a chalet needs to rest now and then.

Sushi lovers may also find delight in the meticulously hand-rolled creations of Tokyo-trained Sushi Master Takehiko Yoshikawa, available for takeaway through April 20th (weekends only). Depending on when you're reading this, it may already be a fond memory of spring's earliest days.

A Summer to Look Forward To
Come June 13th, Le Grand Bellevue will reopen in full, ready to welcome both locals and visitors into its refined embrace. Whether it’s an early morning swim, an afternoon treatment, or a lingering dinner at LEONARD’s, summer promises a return to the rhythms we all look forward to.

Until then, this spring offers a rare chance to experience a more intimate side of the Bellevue—quieter, perhaps, but still very much alive.
