From 15 August onwards, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad moves into the symphonic heart of its 2026 season. Over the course of three weekends, the Festival Tent welcomes some of the world's finest orchestras, internationally acclaimed conductors and soloists, presenting programmes that range from the great Romantic repertoire to opera, a solo piano recital and a family concert.

The series opens with the Gstaad Festival Orchestra under guest conductor Alexander Shelley, joined by Festival Artistic Director violinist Daniel Hope. It continues with the celebrated Budapest Festival Orchestra under Iván Fischer, featuring pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason in Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3, a concert performance of Puccini's La bohème with celebrated tenor Bernjamin Bernheim in the lead role, the eagerly awaited Gstaad debut of the Royal Danish Orchestra under its new Chief Conductor Marie Jacquot with violinist Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, and a rare solo recital by the spellbinding Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili.

The season concludes with an impressive three-concert residency by London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Vasily Petrenko. Highlights include Thomas Hampson performing songs by Alma and Gustav Mahler, Behzod Abduraimov in Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1, and a family performance of Prokofiev's beloved Peter and the Wolf, narrated by Daniel Hope.

For music lovers and visitors alike, a summer in Gstaad would hardly be complete without an evening at the Menuhin Festival. This year's programme once again confirms the Festival's reputation as one of Europe's most distinctive destinations for classical music.
