Stefanos Tsitsipas is the new champion of the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad, lifting the tournament's iconic granite trophy for the first time after an entertaining final against Belgium's Raphaël Collignon.

The Greek arrived in Gstaad looking to rediscover his winning form, and after a week of hard-fought matches he did exactly that. In a final that swung back and forth, Tsitsipas eventually found the answers in the deciding set to deny the Belgian, who was appearing in the first ATP final of his career.

During the trophy ceremony, Tsitsipas praised his young opponent, saying he had followed Collignon's progress in recent years and was convinced that many more titles would come. He also thanked the tournament's ball kids, recalling that he had once stood in their shoes himself.

For Tsitsipas, the victory ends a title drought stretching back to March 2025 and marks the 13th ATP title of his career. For Collignon, despite the disappointment of defeat, the week in Gstaad is likely to be remembered as the tournament that announced his arrival on the ATP Tour.

The celebrations did not end on Centre Court. Shortly after lifting the trophy, Tsitsipas headed to the fountain outside Le Grand Bellevue, where he became the first champion to celebrate with a plunge into the water. Surrounded by ball kids, tournament officials and plenty of cheering spectators, the spontaneous celebration is one organisers hope will become a new Gstaad tradition in the years to come.

Swiss campaign ends early
Swiss hopes had already ended before the weekend. Dominic Stricker was unable to overcome Aleksandr Shevchenko after his rain-delayed round-of-16 match resumed on Friday, leaving no home players in the singles draw. In the doubles, Stricker and Dylan Dietrich reached the quarter-finals before bowing out.

Marc-Andrea Hüsler also used the tournament to announce that he will retire from professional tennis after this week's ATP Challenger event in Zug, bringing the career of the former world No. 47 to a close.
