Don't miss the electrifying performance by Argentinian Grammy Winner, Pablo Ziegler, and his quartet at the 2nd Gstaad Tango Festival! Taking place on Friday, May 24th, at the picturesque Lauenen Church, this event promises an unforgettable evening of musical mastery.
Ziegler, renowned for his contributions to the creation of New Tango, a genre revolutionized by the legendary Astor Piazzolla, brings a fusion of influences ranging from Bach's fugue technique to traditional tango and Latin jazz. At 79, Ziegler's talent continues to captivate audiences, earning him the Grammy for "Best Latin Jazz Album" in 2018.
Accompanied by cellist Anzhe Zuo, pianist Pablo Ziegler, Belgian bandoneon player Manu Compté, and Italian double bassist Virgilio Monti, the quartet will enchant listeners with a repertoire featuring iconic compositions by Piazzolla and Ziegler himself, including the beloved piece "Oblivion."
Intriguingly, the bandoneon, showcased in Ziegler's performances, is Argentina's rendition of the accordion, adding a distinctive flair to the ensemble's sound.
Admission to this extraordinary event is free, and donations will be directed to the Friends of Healthcare in the Saanenland. Mark your calendars for an evening of soul-stirring melodies and rhythmic passion with Pablo Ziegler and his quartet.
