25 years of the “Le Bois qui Chante” Festival

08.10.2025 Arts & Culture, OUTDOOR - HIKING - BIKING, Concerts, Arts & Culture, Events

From 10 to 19 October 2025, it’s time to experience the magic of the Pays-d’Enhaut and celebrate its 25th anniversary!

Since 2001, this autumn gathering has combined music, cultural heritage and conviviality in the heart of the Pays-d’Enhaut. For its 25th edition, Valentina Rebaudo takes over the artistic direction from Beatrice Villiger while preserving the festival’s original spirit. Audience favourites – such as musical walks, orchestra workshops, film evenings, discovery events and musical-gastronomic experiences – naturally remain on the programme.

New features include a family day dedicated to building instruments from recycled materials, as well as lectures on key festival themes – among them, the humanistic legacy of Pablo Casals.

The highlight will be the closing concert in the church of Château-d’Oex: 25 cellists will perform in honour of Patrick Scherrer, the festival’s first president and a great cello enthusiast, joined by Michel Lethiec – a central figure of the Pablo Casals Festival in Prades – and soprano Beatrice Villiger. The celebrations continue with an exceptional concert: the Camerata Lausanne and Renaud Capuçon will perform in Rougemont on 1 November.
