VW Gathering with Bavarian Flair

  02.09.2025 Events

“Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!” and other Bavarian drinking songs echoed across the Landi grounds in Château-d’Oex during the weekend of 22–24 August. The 24th International VW Meeting embraced an Oktoberfest theme this year, complete with more than 3,500 litres of beer and hearty German specialities served in the festival hall – much to the delight of the 10,000 visitors and VW enthusiasts who had travelled from across Europe.

A total of 1,220 vehicles were on display. The gathering is reserved for VW models and cars powered by the classic air-cooled VW boxer engines, making it the largest event of its kind in Switzerland. A highlight for die-hard VW fans was the bustling swap market with some 30 stands, alongside a special exhibition celebrating “75 Years of the VW Bus.”
