Saanenland is beautiful! – The Morgan Club Switzerland toured through Saanenland
17.10.2025 EventsA touch of British flair swept through Saanenland over the weekend of September 11, as the Morgan Club Switzerland embarked on a tour under the motto “Saanenland is beautiful!” The convoy drew many admiring glances as it passed through the region, with 15 vehicles gathering on Saanen’s village square for what became a journey through more than seven decades of automotive history.
The oldest model dated back to 1953, while the newest was from 2024, a vivid display of how the traditional Morgan brand continues to bridge classic design and modern technology. Particularly fascinating is the fact that many of the cars are still built the old-fashioned way, with an ash wood frame. This craftsmanship, rooted in the art of carriage building, makes every Morgan unique and remains a defining hallmark of the British sports car manufacturer.
Founded in 1909 in Malvern, England, the Morgan Motor Company became renowned for its purist roadsters, characterised by their long hoods, distinctive round headlights, and gleaming chrome details. While many carmakers rely entirely on automated production, Morgan continues to champion handcraft and individuality. The result: vehicles that radiate nostalgic charm and promise genuine driving pleasure on winding country roads.
The fifteen Morgans made for a picturesque sight in Saanen, like a living open-air exhibition. No wonder many passers-by stopped to admire the rare cars, take photos, and chat with their proud owners. The enthusiasm was palpable, both among the club members sharing their passion and among the onlookers, who had the chance to experience a piece of British motoring history up close.
