During the festive season, when the slopes are full and the queues in front of the lifts are long, they know the little tricks to avoid the crowded slopes and switch to more unknown ones, which are usually a bit emptier. They also know when the snow is still at its best and where and when you can still find a great place in your favourite restaurant.

Try out different parts of the area and experience something new. How about a cross-country lesson in the evening on a brightly lit trail and explore the region by night, or venturing onto telemark skis and learning a whole new movement sequence? As the instructors are mostly locals, they all know the area, its culture, and history like the back of their hand.

Today, 52 years after its establishment, the association has become a brand in itself, and it is impossible to imagine the winter season in Saanenland without it. The “Private Ski Instructors Gstaad” in their blue sk i suits are omnipresent on and off the slopes – taking their guests cross-country skiing, telemarking, snowshoeing, heliskiing or on ski tours.

The Gstaad Private Ski Instructors Association was founded in 1971. The foundation’s purpose was to unite ski instructors who gave private ski lessons, define quality standards, coordinate cooperation, and cultivate camaraderie. Private Ski Instructors Gstaad – an association with tradition.
