You have been known as "Mr. ZURICH" in Gstaad for many years. What motivated you to leave ZURICH and become an independent insurance broker?
"ZURICH has been a fixture in Gstaad for 80 years, first with Godi Matti, then with Jürg Müller, and finally with me.
As an independent broker, I now have access to the entire insurance market. I can also cushion measures like excessive contract revisions in the event of claims. The differences in premiums among insurers can be enormous.
More and more clients are seeking a risk consultant who can offer national and international advice. They want everything from a single source — available 24/7, fast, competent, and with the Swiss service quality everyone appreciates."
Can you highlight the key differences between working for a large company like ZURICH and being an independent broker?
"Now, I work with many insurance corporations and mid-sized companies. My daily work routine will remain the same. The difference is that instead of offering the best possible deal from ZURICH, I can now find and present the best deal on the market for my clients.
I will probably work even more. But that's not a problem — I love my job and clients. I'm highly motivated and excited for this new challenge."
You are known for offering highly personalised, 24/7 service. How will this approach evolve now that you are independent?
"Offering personal, 24/7 service is more than just a professional commitment for me — it’s my passion. Even as an independent provider, my top priority remains providing my clients with consistently high service.
Independence offers me more freedom and opportunities to diversify my offerings and better respond to my clients' individual needs. This ensures that every client continues to receive the same quality and dedication they are accustomed to while also benefiting from a broader range of products and services.
What personal meaning and impact does this shift to independence have for you?
"'Panta Rhei' — everything flows. This slogan inspires me because it reminds me that change is a natural part of life. While saying goodbye can sometimes be difficult, change and development are essential for personal growth."
