Fancy taking a piece of The Alpina home?
11.10.2026 Events, Sustainability, Hôtellerie, Luxury, ShoppingEver fancied furnishing your chalet with a little five-star luxury? Here is your chance.
The Alpina Gstaad is giving part of its interior a refresh, with around 1,000 pieces of furniture and decorative items going under the proverbial hammer – except there is no auction. Everything is offered at fixed prices, on a first-come, first-served basis.
From designer armchairs and lounge furniture to a Steinway grand piano and a rather imposing 2.8-metre bear, there is plenty to browse.
The sale continues 12–14 October, from 9am to 5pm, at the Festival-Zelt on Sportzentrumstrasse in Gstaad.
Admission is free.
Who knows? Your next favourite reading chair might have a rather distinguished past.

Jürg Hoss Liquidationen, a second-generation family firm based in Zollikon near Zurich, is handling the sale on commission; Jürg Hoss has been in the trade for 50 years. He expects around 1,000 visitors and hopes to clear about 80% of the pieces. At previous sales, some 2,000 people turned up over four days. (source: La Revue des Hotels)
