GLACIER 3000 buys a hotel

  27.06.2022 Local News

The operator of the Glacier 3000 ski area has bought the Eurotel Victoria in Les Diablerets. More than CHF 9m will be invested to renovate the establishment and the 4-star hotel will be open all year round.

The hotel extends its opening hours to match those of the Glacier 3000, which is only closed 25 days a year. The aim is clear: strengthen the mid-season and develop synergies between the leisure facilities and the accommodation sector.

“By owning the hotel business, we can now control the entire service chain associated with our mountain getaway,” explained Bernhard Tschannen, CEO of the group.

A high-quality offer and a family business
Opened in 1972, the Eurotel Victoria now needs to be brought up to date to meet market standards. The 106 rooms will be completely renovated in 2023. And the family business will be maintained. Alexandra and Stéphane Wartner, who currently manage the hotel together, will continue to run it within the Glacier 3000 Group. “We are looking forward to the future and are convinced that this is excellent news for our guests,” they said.

Positive economic impact
Glacier 3000’s further investment and expansion is positively received by Christian Reber, president of the municipality: “I am very happy that a local partner like Glacier 3000 has taken over the operation of the Eurotel Victoria. Opening the hotel all year round allows seasonal jobs to be converted into annual jobs and increases direct economic revenue for businesses in the village, which is positive for the municipality.”

Glacier 3000 will be the largest employer in the region with over 120 seasonal jobs.
