Anyone travelling by e-bike can charge their battery free of charge at various charging stations in the region. Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus (GST) has initiated the programme as a part of their sustainable destination e-bike concept.

There are Bike Energy charging stations at the Bären car park in Zweisimmen, at Le Petit Relais in Saanenmöser, on the village square in Saanen, at the Sportzentrum in Gstaad, at the Hotel Alpenland in Lauenen, at the Hotel-Restaurant Bären in Gsteig, at the Gasthof Zur Sau in Abländschen and at the Berghotel Hornfluh on the Hornberg.

And at some point in the near future, there will be another charging station on the Gstaad Promenade, but GST have not yet been able to define a suitable location. In addition, there are still the “Akku-laden-willkomm” locations, where bikers can charge their batteries with their own chargers.

Most of the installation costs are borne by GST and the municipalities. Since the stations are also freely accessible to locals, the municipalities have each contributed with a larger amount. Why not have a drink or something to eat while waiting for the battery to charge.

Most popular brands can be charged
There are a total of 22 cables per location and that should cover the most common brands and models that are on the road in our region.

And the feedback from the last three years of the e-bike charging stations has been mostly positive. The bikers are happy about the possibilities to charge the battery for free.
