The Hotelierverein Gstaad Saanenland and Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus are taking the well-being of their employees to heart. They are working with a group of students from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne with the aim of positioning themselves as the most attractive destination for employees in the Alps.

On behalf of the Hotelierverein Gstaad Saanenland and Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus, the EHL students are investigating the attractiveness of the destination and what changes will be relevant in the future in order to attract new talents to the destination – and to make them stay in the long term. The collaboration is part of the bachelor project of the students in their final semester. They will be supported by the hoteliers’ association and the tourism organisation.

Most attractive employer in the Alps
In recent years, the needs of employees have changed. Especially for mountain destinations, where recruiting skilled workers is difficult per se, it is important to understand these changing needs to be able to offer employees an interesting offer in the destination in addition to their work. Some changes are already underway. The destination is increasingly focusing on the further education of its employees, for example.

Implementation is in the hands of the hoteliers
The Saanenland should not only represent an attractive destination for the guests, but also offer a pleasant home for employees. With the help of the project, the hoteliers’ association and Gstaad Saanenland Tourismus will try to make working in Saanenland even more attractive for employees.
