Sue Piller not racing this winter

Her prospects were promising. Last season, Sue Piller gradually climbed to the top ranks. She ended the winter with a phenomenal Swiss U16 championship title in giant slalom.

Training crash and end of season
Her training times at the Swiss Ski Speed Camp in Saas-Fee at the beginning of October were promising. She was among the front runners in the U19 category and set the best time of the day in super-G training.

The next day she had a bad fall during downhill training. She was diagnosed with a torn cruciate ligament, a torn inner ligament and a torn meniscus. The season came to an abrupt end before it had really begun.

In the meantime, the injuries have been treated surgically and Sue has started her rehabilitation programme with motivation and discipline. Even though the disappointment about the missed season was big at first, the young athlete was able to quickly focus on her hopefully soon return. "I look at it as a challenge," Sue Piller said shortly after the diagnosis.
