19 yachts took part in the 10th edition of the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy. This anniversary edition will be remembered for the intensity of the regatta and the great finale. "An unforgettable regatta" for Bruno Troublé, who won the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy for the third time. The Centenary Trophy is held as a pursuit race with a special scoring system. The participants cross the starting line according to their handicap and the boat that crosses the finish line off Saint-Tropez first is declared the winner.

Sunshine, blue skies, an easterly wind of around force ten ... The conditions for the 7.5 nautical mile course in the Bay of Saint-Tropez were ideal.

An incredible duel
19 competitors started the race, which eventually came down to a duel between the yacht "Olympian", helmed by Bruno Troublé, and "Spartan", helmed by two-time America's Cup winner, Peter Isler. the Frenchman Troublé took the lead a few lengths before the finish line. "It's a great scenario today, we won, so I'm happy. But it's also a great scenario for the ten years, because the regatta was very competitive, it was fought by one boat length and that's what we want! It proves that this concept works really well. It's sad to see regattas where one boat finishes 500 metres ahead of the second boat. This format is absolutely brilliant, especially when it gets as close as it did today," said a delighted Troublé, a three-time winner of the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy.

"This anniversary edition is a real success. On the water, the regatta was exceptional with a very exciting finale. It will go down in the history of the Gstaad Yacht Club Centenary Trophy because it was so intense and there was such a great winner," said a delighted Manrico Iachia, Commodore of the Gstaad Yacht Club.
