Franchesca Beau Atelier Beaux Arts

  24.08.2021 Arts & Culture

Atelier Beaux Arts is a new gallery in Rougemont featuring the work of local artist Franchesca Noelle Beau.

British-born Franchesca Beau has lived in the Saanenland for many years and draws inspiration from the region, its light and landscape. A self-taught artist with a passion for animals and nature, Franchesca began sketching at a young age before transitioning to water colours and now oils.

Franchesca’s style is realism, post impressionism and expressionism; she has a love for colour and is inspired by artists such as Gauguin and Lucian Freud. Franchesca also produces exquisite postcards – each a unique, hand-painted original – and will in future offer lessons to budding artists.

The Atelier is the realisation of a dream in which Franchesca is partnered by husband Christoph Boo, who manages the gallery. The main exhibition space is light and airy, a fitting setting for appreciating Franchesca’s paintings, but this is only half the story. A room at the back contains another veritable treasure trove of Franchesca’s paintings stacked around the walls: the perfect place to root around and see what gems you can find.
