Masks from 5th grade

  22.02.2021 Local News

In order to reduce the risk of infection at schools despite the more contagious coronavirus variants, the cantonal government has extended the obligation to wear masks to pupils in the fifth and sixth year of primary school. The aim is to prevent temporary closures and to maintain attendance classes.

Only a week prior to the introduction of this cantonal measure, two pupils were tested positive for the new coronavirus variants at Saanen primary school and the Oberstufenzentrum Ebnit. One class of 5th graders in Saanen had to be quarantined. The class of 8th graders initially did not have to go into quarantine since they had been wearing masks all along. After the detectionof more cases, however, they also had to enter a period of quarantine.
