Nine years ago, the improvement of the traffic situation in Schönried was initiated. The first proposals for improving the traffic situation met with considerable resistance from the population and businesses. Now the project has been brought forward again. The aim is to create an attractive thoroughfare with a high residential quality and to improve traffic safety. Various points, such as the loss of pedestrian crossings and parking spaces, have met with strong criticism from the public and the business community. The current plan is to launch a call for tenders in 2023 and start work at the end of 2023. Works are expected to be completed in 2026. No cost estimates are available at present.
