Happy New Year

New year wishes have probably never been meant as seriously as now. Everybody is longing for a happy new year, a prosperous new year, or – more modestly and quite simply – for a normal new year.

Of course we won't have it, the normal new year. But from what I have seen in my private circles and in Gstaad, humankind is showing its great ability to adapt. Not always with a smile, but then we couldn't see that anyway, could we...

But let's move on. I want to single out two contributions in this edition of GstaadLife. Our interview partner is exceptionally young. She is the youngest profile interviewee we have ever featured and I am very happy she agreed to talk to us about her dreams and aspirations. A young woman who perseveres in a male dominated sport and in a remote rural area as ours deserves her story to be told!

Second, we delve into the history of Institut Le Rosey. The heritage of the institute for the region cannot be overstated. Its history and that of Gstaad simply go hand in hand. This look back into the past is – of course – linked to a hopeful glance into the future, in which Gstaad and Le Rosey continue to prosper together.

Best regards,

Dr Markus Iseli,
