From summer 2021, the restaurant of the Gstaad-Saanenland Golf Club will be run by Marcus G. Lindner. After two years, the Park Gstaad will hand over the management of the restaurant to the Eggli host, who is employed all year round by the Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad (BDG).
Park Gstaad had taken over the management of the golf restaurant in 2019. "At that time it was a strategic decision in the sense of the hotel's golf commitment to operate the destination's only golf simulator," a media release states. From summer 2021, Lindner, one of Switzerland's leading chefs, will manage the restaurant of the Gstaad-Saanenland Golf Club.
The top chef opens the mountain restaurant Eggli on 19 December. With the new solution, the employees could be offered year-round jobs: "Employees hired for the Eggli in winter can be employed at the Golf Club during the summer season. Both restaurants address the same clientele and therefore complement each other."
The qualitative development of Gstaad as a destination with offers for demanding guests is a central concern for the BDG, Park Gstaad and the Golf Club. "The idea of engaging Marcus G. Lindner in the golf restaurant and thus offering the destination another star chef all year round convinced us," explains François Grohens, GM of Park Gstaad.
Lindner has been associated with Gstaad for years and is looking forward to the new challenges. The star-decorated chef wants to present guests in both restaurants with a wide selection of high-quality culinary offerings as well as simple and down-to-earth dishes.
