With the prospect of the predicted sharp rise in infections with the SARS CoV-2 pathogen in Switzerland, Spital STS AG has also taken all possible precautions.
In the event of a pandemic, the supply of protective material and protective masks in particular, is centralised. At present, the provision of protective material in the health care system and in the care of the elderly is guaranteed.
Protective masks are a rare good. According to the news on Swiss Radio SRF on Thursday, the production of protective masks in Switzerland is being ramped. From mid-April, up to a daily 62,000 protective masks can be produced. Until then, masks will remain a scarce commodity and should be reserved for people directly exposed to the virus at work.
A ban for visitors has been in place since mid-March in the institutions belonging to Alterswohnen STS AG. This ban applies to the Maison Caludine Pereira and the retirement home Sunnebühl in Lauenen.
