"Our trade fair has a traditional focus"

Even from a distance, the crowds were pulled in by the giant crane arms of the various company fleets, taking them to lofty heights. Inside, the atmosphere was just as exciting. Exhibitors had devised new ideas to show off their trades in the best possible light and with clear success: The fair is extremely popular with both young and old. Most visitors are "regulars" and don’t miss out on any of the shows.

The different exhibitor stands made great impressions on the visitors, who clearly needed time to ponder over these. Exhibits in the apprentice competition received special recognition. Ultimately, the positive image of the fair was rounded off with lovely decorations and delicious food in the fair’s restaurant and at the various stalls.

The exhibitors were happy too. Traditionally, they use the trade fair as a networking opportunity and to speak with their target audience and potential new customers, as well as build contacts with colleagues from their trade. The last few years have seen around 75 exhibitors on each occasion. According to fair president, Jürg von Allmen, this number has stayed roughly the same and visitor numbers are also consistent.

A varied supporting programme
The supporting programme was varied but deliberately kept a focus on the traders. The Kasperlitheater and the handicrafts for children in the Chinderhuus Ebnit gallery are an indispensable part of every fair.

Another highlight was the impressive Saanen fire brigade display on the Thoenen plot along with the Air-Glaciers. A burning house was extinguished from the ground and from the air.

On Friday evening, the Mobiliar Talks with ethical hacker Ivan Bütler and YB goalkeeper Marco Wölfli also aroused much interest.

Positive outcome
"I liked it," said von Allmen. The colourful mix of businesses, the right number of visitors and above all their enthusiasm impressed him. He almost felt guilty at bringing the fair to a conclusion on Sunday at 5pm, as so many visitors were still at the stands and in the restaurant. During the subsequent exhibitors’ dinner, the role of president was officially handed over to Philipp Reber from Gstaad Optik.
