Tue, 16. Apr. 2019

The Alpina Gstaad has picked up several awards for the winter season of 2018/19. Guests of this luxury hotel have been pampered there for over seven years. These most recent awards are well deserved by all those involved.

On 17 March, the 185 team members and co-owner, Marcel Bach, attended the awards ceremony at the end-of-season event, which took place in the Sommet Restaurant. Hotel manager Tim Weiland, who became the new manager of The Alpina Gstaad on 1 November 2018, said: "It’s a great honour to receive these awards in recognition of the dedicated teams, who are committed to providing an exclusive service. The owners, everyone on the board and myself are always impressed by the lengths our staff go to and would like to thank them for their hard work over the winter season. They’ve made a really positive contribution to the continuing success of the hotel."

Three awards

The Alpina Gstaad picked up three awards for the winter season 2018/2019.

Hotel of the Year – Europe (2019 Preferred Awards of Excellence): The Preferred Awards of Excellence recognise partners across a global network of companies that stand for exclusivity as part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts brand promise. Onno Porter, a representative and consultant of the hotel owners, attended the ceremony in Monaco on 28 February to receive the award on behalf of The Alpina Gstaad.

A 5-star rating in the Forbes guide 2019: On 20 February, the Forbes Travel Guide published its 61st annual list of the most beautiful hotels in the world. The Alpina Gstaad was among 21 new hotels picked out to be part of the prestigious five-star list. Forbes has its own anonymous professional inspectors, who grade hotels based on 900 objective standards, placing particular value on exceptional service. 75% of the hotel rating is down to the standard of service and 25% percent determined by the quality of the facilities.

Best Resorts in Europe (US News & World): In early March, US News published its annual rankings for luxury hotels and resorts around the world. The Alpina Gstaad was no. 49 on the list of the best hotels in Europe. US News determines the best resorts based on reviews by professional travel experts, guest reviews and hotel rankings.
