The issued ban includes fireworks, fires in forests or in proximity of forests and bonfires.

It is still allowed to have lantern parades in villages and private BBQ in one's garden.

The authorities further point out that the lighting of private fireworks after 1 August requires an official authorization.

The ban can be overruled by stricter cantonal decisions and will stay in place until revoked. The municipal councils of Saanen, Gsteig and Lauenen can be contacted for more information.
