Olden Piste Open for Business

Sun, 03. Dec. 2017

Freezing temperatures in the past week have allowed an intense snowmaking effort in the Oldental. Beginning this past weekend, Glacier 3000 is planning to open the Olden piste, subject to the current weather conditions.

The seven-kilometre run is one the longest and most demanding runs in the region is one of the highlights of the Glacier3000 ski area. The runway starts at the mountain station Scex Rouge at 2971m and finishes on Oldenalp at 1834m, making a total height difference of 1137m. The Olden slope is a demanding, black piste and offers great views.

Later in December, the new piste Red Run will open. This eight kilometre-long red track leads from Scex Rouge at 3000m and ends at Reusch, 1300m. It expands the existing offer on a total 28 kilometres of slopes.

Glacier3000 offers not only winter sports, but is a year-round excursion destination which remains attractive to non-skiers through other winter activities. The cable car from Col du Pillon-Scex Rouge is operational during the winter months, as is the viewpoint and Peak Walk by Tissot, the chairlift Scex Rouge “Ice Express“, Restaurant Botta, Refuge L'Espace, and the Glacier Walk, a three-kilometre long secured winter hiking path over the glacier.
