"The takeover was a big step for our team, "stressed Allemann.

The general assembly of Gstaad Airport AG has selected Roger Trüb as managing director and flight director ad interim. He will take up his position 1 May, and formally confirmed at the next general meeting. Thomas Rösti will be deputy for the flight deck.

Roger Trüb has a wealth of experience and a professional pilot certificate, is a flight instructor, and spent 11 years at the Birrfeld airfield as well as head of the flying school there. Birrfeld is one of the busiest regional airports in the country, with 80,000 flight segments per year, rated just after Zurich, Geneva, and Basel. Saanen, by contrast, is much sleepier with just 6,000-8,000 per year.

"I hope that Roger Trüb doesn’t get bored in Saanen,” joked Walter Egger, Chairman of the Board, Flight Cooperative
Gstaad-Saanenland.

The 48-year old Trüb says he’s looking forward to his move to the Saanenland.
