After a mild autumn, winter has now blanketed the Saanenland with several centimetres of snow. The BDG, which runs the region's mountain lifts and gondolas may start the season a week early. Snowmaking facilities in the East sector are in operation and the group is preparing the Hornberg/Saanerslockgrat sub-area to open the weekend of 19-20 November.
