Northern Lights in the Saanenland?

Northern lights can usually be observed during cold winters in the northern hemisphere in polar regions. However, this can surprisingly also occur in our latitudes. As a result of reflection and refraction from sunlight on existing ice crystals, such rainbow-like sun rings can arise. Thanks to reader Bert Inäbnit, who took this photo Saturday morning.
