Gstaad software firm hosts LocalPoint media forum
24.01.2011 ArchivIt was all about the Gstaad-based software company Consenda AG, which in collaboration with Switzerland's leading media company Publicitas, has developed a publishing system for local newspapers known as LocalPoint. On January 21 2011 as part of its first annual LocalPoint Forum, Consenda invited media experts and publishers from all over the country to exchange ideas and experiences regarding the changes taking place in the media industry, with topics ranging from new technology, new ways of reporting local news, and new forms of advertising.
LocalPoint allows local news publishers to seamlessly connect their newspaper's print edition with web, out-of-home TV, mobile phone as well as social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Since 2009 when our sister publication, the Anzeiger von Saanen, became the first publisher to begin using LocalPoint, the LocalPoint network has grown to include local publishers from across Switzerland. The morning of speeches was followed by a gourmet lunch on the Wasserngrat, with discussions about the changes taking place in the media landscape continuing well into the afternoon punctuated by delegates taking advantage of a little fresh snow to get in a few runs.
