Team Land Rover wins 1st Cartier Gold Cup

  23.08.2006 Sports & Leisure

Despite changeable weather conditions, records crowds turned out to see Team Land Rover, owned by Fabien Pictet and his son Sascha, grab victory in the closing seconds of an exciting final against Ricardo Tattoni’s Team Cartier by the slim margin of 7½ to 7. Milo Fernandez Araujo, one of the world’s best polo players, was the star of the show, carrying his team to victory despite sustaining a shoulder injury. Overall feedback regarding the event, which was organized for the first time by Pierre E Genecand and his new team at the Polo Club Gstaad, was very positive, and local residents and VIP guests alike were able to soak up the atmosphere in the expanded tent and polo village. Full results after the jump.
