Students Help Raise Palace Flags

Mon, 19. Jun. 2017

The Gstaad Palace opened its doors for the summer season by hosting local students to help in the festivities. The group of nine was made up of first graders who are students of Eveline Hofmann at the Rütti school.

Hofmann had put in a last minute request to the Palace to see if the children could help raise the hotel’s famous flags. The group, led by Palace assistant director Barbara Kernen, visited the tower roofs and with the help of the chasseur Carlos, installed the Bernese, Swiss, and Palace Hotel flags.

Afterwards, the children had a snack in the penthouse suite salon and chatted with Palace staff. They discussed the fact that although they had been to the hotel on previous occasions, they had never visited the tower—a real treat.

Two people die in avalanche
