The (few) things we don’t like about Gstaad

  03.06.2007 Gstaad Living

This year’s region is the Bernese Oberland, and the subject of the season premier on July 2 is Gstaad. The live program will be co-hosted by SF1’s Nick Hartmann (pictured above) and GstaadLife.com’s very own Andrea von Siebenthal, and will feature segments highlighting the culture, traditions and perspectives of Saanenland as well as interviews with local personalities (yes, of course Marcel Bach is on the schedule). While everyone is familiar with Gstaad’s reputation as a jet-set alpine resort, producers hope to dig deeper to portray the many aspects of Gstaad, from cows to construction, from tax exiles to yodelers. A couple of weeks back in preparation for the show, producers roamed the Promenade looking for local residents to tell them what they did not like about living in Gstaad.

This question prompted much navel-gazing here at GstaadLife.com, and after discussing this with a few folks around town, we realized that it’s a very interesting question on which almost everyone has an opinion. Among the responses we’ve heard so far (in no particular order)…

So we thought we’d put the question to you the reader: tell us, what do you like least about Gstaad? Click here to post your comments.
