Let us not talk about the coronavirus, but how should it be avoided? After all, the current pandemic has arguably been the most incisive worldwide event during my lifetime. It probably has for most people who had not been born to see WWII.

Roland Zegg will not stand for re-election as a member of the board of directors at the general meeting of the Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad AG (BDG) in August/autumn 2020. Five years after the comprehensive restructuring of the BDG, the main goals have largely been achieved.


Fancy new valley station

Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad AG (BDG) moved into its new offices in the newly built valley station of the Bergbahn Eggli at Easter. The multifunctional building fits beautifully into the landscape while featuring a markedly contemporary design.


Need for a lead?

In the canton of Bern, 76 wild animals were killed by roaming dogs in 2019. Nevertheless, there is no intention to introduce a general lead requirement in the Saanenland, not even during the breeding period, when wild animals are rearing their young.


Open for business

At the time of writing, shops, restaurants and cafés are among the businesses recently allowed to open. The borders with Germany, Austria and France are scheduled to open in a matter of days, with the hope that Italy will follow soon afterward.
