Brocante cancelled

  03.08.2020 Local News

Among many other events, the Saanen Brocante market had to be cancelled due to the corona virus.

“The aim was to carry out and not to cancel our event”, said Niclas Baumer, president of the village organisation Saanen and the OC of Brocante. Hence they had waited with the final decision.

However, it would have been very difficult to comply with the Federal Office of Public Health’s (FOPH) requirements regarding distance and hygiene at such an event. The number of visitors would certainly have exceeded 1,000. “The decision was very difficult for us, also because many registrations have already been received.”

The date for next year’s Saanen Brocante has already been fixed: it is to take place on Saturday, 7 August. After the successes of recent years, a large number of market stalls are expected again.
