The accident in Schönried occurred on Thursday, 28 May 2020, around 7.15am. A schoolgirl was riding her bicycle on the Saanenmöserstrasse in the direction of Schönried when she was overtaken shortly before the junction of Blüemlismattstrasse by a car also heading in the direction of Schönried. Thereupon the girl fell for reasons yet to be clarified. The driver of a following car stopped to inquire about the condition of the injured. Later in the morning, the schoolgirl went to the hospital for a check-up, where minor injuries were found.

In order to clarify the circumstances of the accident, the Bern cantonal police are looking for witnesses who can give details of the accident. In particular, the driver of the car that overtook the girl, as well as the driver who inquired about the girl's condition, are asked to come forward.
