The Bern Junior Expo is a very important event for young breeders and a formative experience for the youngest among them. 450 animals were registered, of which approximately 300 were cattle, 100 first calf cows, and 35 calves. In all race categories, animals from the Saanenland were top-rated.

Simmental

In the 3rd section, Tamara Rolli’s Fels Froeide (Gstaad) finished 3rd on the podium. Her expression and subtlety were the defining characteristics that helped her achieve these results. In the 5th division, Celine Hauswirth (Gstaad) also took 3rd place with Sipan Bionda, a big, developed, wide-bodied bull. Division 6 was led by Corinne Matti’s Benito Elana (Turbach), whose performance convinced with elegance and finesse.

Red Holstein

Here there was a podium spot for Lars Brand’s Armani Flavinia (Gstaad) in the 1st department. She took 2nd place thanks to her charisma and body development.

Holstein

The 1st section was dominated by family Gobeli from Saanen. Sabrina Gobeli’s Durango Perry took the lead, thanks to her size and width. With elegant features, number 2 was garnered by Yanik Gobeli’s Dempsey Jolina. Also in the 2nd division, the Gobelis were victorious with golden girl Luna-Lena led by Timo Gobeli. She embodied exactly what makes a perfect Holstein cow— not only boasting a superior body, but necessary style. Luna-Lena took the Cattle Champion title as well the Supreme Champion title, winning the overall competition.

Simmental

In the 1st section, second place was secured by the strong-bodied (with a prominent rear udder) Kilian Delicieuse led by Patrik Matti (Turbach). In the 2nd section, Amarone Karina of Matthias von Grünigen (Turbach) also reached the podium with rank 2. The type-strong cow of showed a lot of presence in the ring. Bruno von Grünigen’s Kilian Wega (Turbach) in the third division took 2nd place as well. Her expression and the convincing udder length and height helped her achieve this ranking.

Swiss Fleckvieh

Division 3 was won by Martin Bergmann (Abländschen) with Anjou Anita. She took the win thanks to her harmonious body type and her captivating udders. Thanks to her udder width and perfect teat placement, she was able to earn the exclusive title of Miss Beautiful Udders in the final.
