Gstaadermesse Thrills the Saanenland

  03.11.2017 Gstaad Living

The fair began on Thursday evening with an exhibitor aperitif and the grand opening and ended on Sunday evening with the raffle of the trade fair competition and the exhibitors' evening. In between, the public visited 70 booths, where there were many novelties to see. The traders spared no effort—there was hardly a booth without a competition or spectator attraction, including a 3D printer and home cinema.

An audience favorite was the wrestling king Matthias Glarner. When he spoke on stage during the Mobi-Talk at the restaurant, every seat was occupied and many onlookers lined up to hear him.

This year, the Hotel Bernerhof and Saveurs Gstaad were responsible for gastronomy. In the restaurant and at various stalls there were culinary delights for every budget. The menus of the participants of the cooking contest, were also praised by guests. The two apprentices Fritz Kunz and Marie Fallegger as well as the young chef Mike Auer, who had competed in the cooking competition, were honored on Saturday afternoon, but there was no award because of the small number of participants.

The next Gstaadermesse will take place in autumn 2019.
