The Saanenland ranks sixth overall, with a total of ten hotels deemed to be amongst the 75 best winter hotels in Switzerland.  The list continues to be dominated by the region’s 5-star superior properties, with the Wellness & Spa Hotel Ermitage also in the top 25 of the category. 

On the less pricey side, the Hotel Spitzhorn is warmly described in the guide, which states, “The excellent chalet appears for the third time at the top of the best of 3-star winter hotels.”

Karl Wild, the guide’s author, also states that there are currently over 80 hotel projects in Switzerland, showing confidence in the industry. Some of these include the Ultima, which will open in mid-December as Gstaad’s fifth luxury hotel, and HUUS, which opened its doors after a double-digit million-franc renovation last week.
