An Eye on Wildlife

  26.04.2016 Gstaad Living

For a few weeks birds have been coming back and now accompany us through the early mornings. Some species leave, though, when spring announces warmer temperatures, like the lesser redpoll. Our reader and and naturalist Bert Inäbnit spotted a lesser redpoll, who would normally be on his way further up into the Alps around this time of the year. Lesser red polls live in alpine regions up to 2400 meters altitude.

The late snow of the past weeks also brought some shy deer closer to the villages. Looking for some juicy green leaves, they were spotted by Blanca Burri, as they quitely grased in Gstaad, Rütti.
