Did you hear the sirens around Saanenland?
General alarm: means that danger for people is possible. The siren is a one minute high and low wailing which is repeated every two minutes.
Water alarm: twelve deep continous tones at intervals of 10 seconds. In case of emergency the area in danger has to be evacuated immediately.
The correct actions taken in case of emergency: turn on your radio and follow the instructions of the authorities. If you live in an endangered area (for example in Gsteig under the Sanetsch dam) you should already make yourself aware of the steps to be taken in the event of an emergency via bulletins which are available at your local Gemeinde office.
