Gstaad catholic church to be renovated
Another big construction project is on its way. The catholic church in Gstaad is planning a renovation and is taking the opportunity to construct a new multifunctional building on its north side to replace the ugly garage. The building will house a multi-purpose foyer, a lift to the basement, side rooms, bicycle stands, a garage and a container room. And the site of the new multifunctional means that the last great tree of Kirchenstrasse, indeed one of the last great old trees in the village, will have to go. On December 2 the church council will vote for the project and the necessary SFr 4 million credit to cover construction costs Click here to see a scale model of the proposed new construction.

What a pity to change what is runing correctly. But it's better than to see a watches shop or a bank instead.
I guess Jesus doesn't want 4 millions wasted.
Better to go to the poors.

Totally unnecessary, waste of money, 4 millions better for the poors.
But better instead of a watches or Louis Vuiton shop or new bank...

Hi
More to the point, are they still celebrating Christmas and New Year? Last year I remember a lovely piano recital on new year's eve. The church did not make me pay for the music - but I wanted to contribute. Do they do the same this year?

Dear Lorraine,
I happen to be the Administrative Director of the New Year's Music Festival that offers the New Year's Eve concert at the church. Your message really warms our hearts! We are indeed having a concert this year again. Funny you should mention contributing... The church is making us pay rent this year, but we are still not charging a fee, although we pay for the musicians to come! I think having a basket for the musician at the exit is an excellent idea. I hope to see you this year, on December 31st at 7:30 PM, for a Piano Forte Recital given by Tan Xiao playing Bach and Messiaen.

Thanks Laetitia for the programme advice. Now I have time to tell my friends and make an early evening celebration with Bach and Messiaen.
