Gstaad area train stations to undergo renovation

Montreux-Oberland-Bahn (MOB), the operator of the rail service that passes through Gstaad, recently announced that it will be renovating the station in Gstaad beginning in 2008. The renovation will be the result of considerable new investments to be made by MOB, which will also see the renovation of the stations in Chateau d’Oex and Saanenmöser. The permits for all three projects have already been obtained. Also among the planned changes will be the development of a service center at the Schönried station to bring the railway station, tourist office and snow sport school together under one roof. One step in the reverse direction…the station in Rougemont will be losing its manned ticket counter.
