Transafricans stop by Geneva

20061031gac_in_gva_1On their way over to Paris yesterday, the Gstaad Automobile Club Transafricans, Stan de Sadeleer and Hansueli Brand, stopped in to see their friends at ING Private Banking in Geneva. ING Private Banking is a sponsor of Team GAC as they seek to reach Dakar from Paris, beginning tomorrow afternoon at 15h00. Today all technical controls for Team GAC were completed this afternoon and de Sadeleer and Brand are all set for tomorrow's easy first stage to the French military training ground in Olivet. Thursday's stage will include a parade through central Paris past the Arc de Triomphe and the Trocadéro. If you're reading this from the Paris area, here's where you can check out the cars:

  • 15h00: Departure of the first team from Courbevoie Parc de Bécon
  • 15h15: Check point at the Trocadéro
  • Along the banks of the Seine towards the autoroute A10
  • Exiting the autoroute A10 at Orléans-La Source
  • 17h45: Arrival of the first car in Arbon
  • 19h00: Estimated arrival time of the last car

Kurzer Halt in Genf

Auf ihren Weg nach Paris machten de Sadeleer und Brand gestern einen kurzen Halt in Genf und schauten bei ihren Freunden bei ING Private Banking vorbei, ein Sponsor des Gstaader Teams.
Heute konnten alle technischen Kontrollen am Land Rover durchgeführt werden und Brand und de Sadeleer sind bereit für die erste Etappe nach Olivet. Die Eröffnungsstrecke am Donnerstag beinhaltet einen Umzug durch das Zentrum von Paris, vorbei am Arc de Triomphe und dem Trocadéro.
